The story that came before.
Born in 1884 in Licciana Nardi, northern Tuscany, Anselmo Rossi traveled to America in 1904 and arrived in Santa Rosa in 1906. He worked as a shoe cobbler before opening A. Rossi & Son in 1921.
The family business later became A. Rossi & Sons, expanded to five locations, and served Northern California with men’s fashion and workwear until 1965.
That family history is the foundation of the name. Today’s A Rossi creative practice carries the story into a new chapter.
A NOTE FROM VINCE
It’s always been bigger than me.
In 2015, I left my job at Ferrari of San Francisco to pursue design. I worked my way through the art world and found myself in fashion, without knowing the full scope of my family history.
During a night of research in 2023, I discovered the story of my great-great-grandfather, Anselmo Rossi. It connected my work to something much bigger than myself.
I do this for the ones that came before me and the ones that will come after. Thanks for taking this little journey through history with me. Let’s build!
